Since joining Christensen Law as a Director, Gary D. Long has made his sole focus defending self-insured employers and insurance companies before the Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Court and the Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commission.  With more than thirty years of experience, Gary is detail oriented, taking pride in the results of his efforts. Gary is efficient and effective in the litigation process as well as the process of negotiation. Gary’s philosophy in dealing with his opposition is: “You will never beat me in the hallway. You will have to do it in the Court room!”

Gary attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a debate scholarship which proved a valuable training ground for his current profession, both of which require analytical thinking and concise, coherent communication. Gary then attended Oklahoma City University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1975.

His early law practice involved areas of personal injury, probate, contracts, divorce and criminal law. Gary began his Workers’ Compensation Defense practice in 1984 when he took over defending Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company from a senior partner in the law firm he worked for who was appointed to the Oklahoma County District Court bench. Mr. Long still represents Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company and has done so continuously since 1984.

Outside of work, Gary enjoys spending time with his family, including wife, Tina, their three children and spouses and their three grandsons. Away from work, Gary can likely be found on the golf course, doing yard work or working on an array of home projects which provide a welcome diversion to his intense professional life.
